Window Furnishings

custom made curtains and blinds for your home

We are excited to now offer custom made window furnishings direct to our customers (trade orders welcome also). Curtains, roman blinds and roller blinds can all be manufactured in your choice of design, colour & basecloth to suit your home. Select from our Ready-Made range of fabrics or Customise your own.

If you need more hands-on assistance with selecting the right window furnishings and colours for your home, we recommend working directly with one of our recommended showrooms or interior designers. See below.

Roman Blinds

Roman blinds are simple & timeless and suit small to medium sized windows.

Roman blinds are the most popular choice for our customers. They suit small to medium sized windows in all rooms, are a cost effective option due to low fabric requirements and they don't take up too much additional space around the window.

Roman blinds are suited to all medium weight fabrics in our range (all natural fibres will exhibit some slight movement throughout the seasons as humidity rises and falls).

We recommend more subtle, tonal prints for large rooms with multiple windows, and reserving bolder more colourful prints for smaller rooms with only one window.

Curtains

Curtains are the most thermally insulating choice, especially when fitted with a pelmet.

Curtains are a fantastic choice for large windows or houses that need a bit more help keeping out the heat and cold, especially when fitted with a pelmet. Curtains can be lined with a thermal blockout lining or a cotton lining if light is not an issue.

Curtains are suited to all medium weight fabrics in our range (all natural fibres will exhibit some slight movement throughout the seasons as humidity rises and falls).

Most curtains are made with a simple pencil pleat but alternative styles are available upon request.

roller blinds

Roller blinds are simple, streamlined and space saving.

Roller blinds are available either as a bonded blind (with a blockout lining, great for bedrooms) or as a sheer stiffened blind which lets some light through (great for kitchens and bathrooms). They are a simple, space saving option which do not require a large volume of fabric.

Bonded blinds can only be made using our organic cotton/hemp basecloths due to manufacturing constraints. Sheer stiffened blinds be made with our organic cotton/hemp OR eco-linen fabrics.

How to Order

When placing your order, the first thing we need is detailed information about your window. You can either provide these measurements yourself or we can arrange a professional measure (see below). Here are some details we need to know:

Roman blinds are usually mounted to the top of the window frame or the wall above. If mounting to the wall above please let us know how far your window frame protrudes from the wall.

Roller blinds can be mounted to the top of the window frame or recessed inside the window frame (minimum 50mm depth).

For all blinds please advise your mounting preference and let us know if your window has a protruding sill. Please also let us know which side you would prefer the cord/chain.

If your window has an existing curtain track please provide measurements (C) and (D) as described above. A photo of your existing track is useful to ensure it is compatible with our curtain header. If there is no existing track please provide measurements (E) and (F) and also distance to any adjacent walls, structure or furniture. If you would like your curtains to be drawn back completely clear of the window we need to allow approximately 1/8th of the window width on either side.

Please provide these measurements via email, along with your choice of fabric (Ready-Made or Customised) and preferred lining (blockout, cotton or unlined). A photo of your window is also very useful to ensure no details are missed.

If you would like your curtains to be cord drawn please specify you preference for which side.

measure & install

Victorian based customers can arrange for assistance with measuring and installing blinds. Please email us for a quote; we will need to know your location and the number of windows to be measured.

You are welcome to measure and install yourself (see section above).
